An elderly friend of mine is sadly finally giving up fiddling because of his age and is looking for a good home for each of his fiddles.

The violins are all English and some are quite old. The values are approx based on recent insurance valuations. Current location Somerset, near Langport.

Hohner early pokerwork 2 row melodeon in C/F. This probably dates from the 1950s, it is in excellent condition, and was fully serviced last year including new valves, reeds re-waxed, full re-tuning, pallets refaced, bass buttons bushed and fingerboard button travel limited. It plays extremely well and sounds great. I always use this one for practice as it is so nice to play. It is extremely airtight, the bellows are sound but have been rebound at some time with cloth tape which is a little raggedy here and there. Be warned - C/F boxes are always reckoned be good for singing but don't play terribly well in G and D!

Hohner Club II Victoria 2 1/2 row melodeon in C/F. This again is probably 1950s or maybe 60s. It is one of the instruments finished in grey pearloid. It is fairly sound but has lost a few small pieces of the pearloid covering although the grille is undamaged. It is still in club tuning. It requires fine tuning and most people would have the club tuning changed to the normal arrangement. Could be done by keen amateur or guesstimate about £80 to £100 to have done professionally. Would also recommend bushing the bass buttons as well.

Hohner pokerwork 2 row melodeon in G/D. This is the one I generally bring to the session. I bought it originally for my wife in about 1983 (showing ag here). It is one of the West German manufactured boxes. The bellows have been rebound and it was professionally serviced last year including tuning, right hand button travel limited and bass buttons bushed. It also had a new grille.

Victorian violin. I know nothing about violins except they are small and have 4 strings lol. I have been told that the bridge is a little wide and low for it. However it seems quite loud and quite bassy (new word for the OED). Sounds pretty good to me.
